BSW Child Welfare and Protection Track Application

The Child Welfare and Protection Track is designed to prepare Spanish-speaking students in the Bachelor of Social Work program with specialized knowledge and experience in child welfare and protection services to meet the needs of Connecticut’s Latinx families served by the state Department of Children and Families (DCF). Applicants will be expected to check their UConn email regularly and respond to communications related to the program in a timely manner. Eligible students will be required to participate in an interview; interviews will be scheduled for December 17. Notifications of program acceptance will be made by early January of the year of program entry.

  • Fluent is defined as the ability to converse with another person in a language other than English on a variety of subjects without much strain.

    Any time a student cannot fulfill the program and internship requirements, the stipend will be discontinued.
