Join Our Social Work Teaching Community!
Come join our diverse and dynamic team of instructors at UConn School of Social Work’s Hartford campus. We are currently seeking candidates for our adjunct pool in all areas of BSW and MSW teaching, with particular needs for instructors with an MSW and practice or research experience relevant to core areas of our curriculum. We aim to provide a supportive environment for instructors with all levels of experience teaching in-person and/or online.
Requirements for serving as an instructor at UConn SSW:
- Commitment to social justice in social work education, and to support and engagement of students with diverse backgrounds.
- Openness to developing as an instructor in anti-oppressive pedagogy for macro, mezzo, or micro levels, grounded in the values and ethics of the profession.
- At least two years of post-MSW practice experience for practice classes. Relevant experience in community-responsive research methods for research classes.
- Ability to fulfill teaching and administrative requirements in a reliable and timely manner.
- Prior experience teaching is preferred, however we also strongly value background in training, organizing, facilitating groups, and other relevant leadership experience.
