Program Background
The Child Advocacy Stipend Program aims to enhance the workforce and ultimately reduce child abuse and generational trauma among children and youth in Connecticut. Students will develop specialized knowledge, skills, and training in child abuse prevention and the provision of comprehensive, multidisciplinary, community-based services to child victims and their families. In collaboration with the Connecticut Children's Alliance, a pilot program will commence in Fall 2025, offering up to four placements for Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) seniors and Community Organizing and Policy Practice students (CORG & POPR) to complete a year-long practicum at a Connecticut Child Advocacy Center (CAC). Students will be able to indicate their preference for the CAC location, however, it is not guaranteed.
Students will receive a $1,500 stipend, with a disbursement of $750 each semester. Priority application deadline is February 15th.
