International Students

Applicants from outside the United States require a longer processing period and for this reason are asked to submit their application and evidence of proficiency in the English language as early as possible. Applicants who are not United States citizens or permanent resident aliens must meet additional requirements before their admission is finalized.

Required third-party credential evaluations for transcripts and degrees awarded by schools outside the US.

Effective September 8, 2025, for applicants submitting applications to the Summer 2026 or Fall 2026 terms and beyond, The Graduate School will require third-party credential evaluations for transcripts and degrees awarded by schools outside the U.S. Some programs have opted out of this requirement. There is no need to upload transcripts and degree diplomas/certificates if a third-party credential evaluation has already been included in your application. For a list of accepted evaluation services accepted by the UConn Graduate School, please visit their admission requirements website.

English Language Proficiency

Students whose native language is not English must show evidence of proficiency in the English language by submitting the results (no more than two years old) from one of the standardized tests listed under English Proficiency.
