MSW Course Permission Numbers

Please review all the information below PRIOR to submitting the permission number request form.

Permission number requests for MSW courses are now managed through this form and not by emailing faculty, staff, or advisors.

For Spring 2026 Courses:

Students will be able to submit a request starting October 20, 2025 (date registration opens) through January 20, 2026 (first day of the semester). Requests will be reviewed starting November 20, 2015 (three weeks after registration opens). Students will receive notification to their UConn email with a decision once it has been made. If approved, the permission number provided will only be valid for 72 hours. Please note that no permission number is guaranteed.

Please note the following:

  • This form is for Master of Social Work (MSW) courses only.
  • All pre-requisites and/or co-requisites for the course must be satisfied. Please refer to the Course Directory for requisite information.
  • Permission numbers are NOT transferrable.

Do NOT submit this form if you are unable to enroll in the course due to the following:

  • You have a hold/service indicator on your account (e.g.: advising hold, bursar hold, health services).
    • You need to resolve the hold before you can enroll. The hold can ONLY be lifted by the office that placed it.
  • You have not met the course’s pre-requisites. Refer to the Course Directory for course prerequisites.
  • You are not registering for all co-requisites courses at the same time.
    • Remember that there are specific courses you must enroll in (together) for each semester of practicum. You must place all of these co-requisite courses into your shopping cart and then select all and enroll from there.
