Cindy Nichols, LCSW


Cynthia Nichols, LCSW is a PhD student whose current research interests focus on investigating barriers to substance use treatment for underserved populations. Her current research focuses on recovery support services, specifically the use of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) within recovery residences.  She seeks to bring awareness to the various avenues of recovery.

Cynthia formerly resided in Boston and worked as a clinical social worker offering dual diagnosis therapy and group counseling in various addiction recovery treatment settings, including outpatient methadone, inpatient detoxification, and outpatient suboxone and vivitrol programs. She is a licensed clinical social worker in the states of Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor in the state of Massachusetts. She earned her MSW from the University of Connecticut and her B.S. in Psychology, with a concentration in Neuroscience, from the Pennsylvania State University.
