Kylie Harrington, LCSW
Kylie Harrington, LCSW, is a PhD student at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Kylie is interested in researching the ways political radicalization occurs, how that radicalization affects individuals and their families, and the role social work has to play in that process. Of particular interest is the way individuals are radicalized or deradicalized by technology, such as social media and the internet. She seeks to understand what causes certain radicalized individuals to engage in both interpersonal and mass violence, and is dedicated to helping mental health providers competently serve clients with radical beliefs and their loved ones.
Kylie earned her MSW from the University of Connecticut, specializing in Individuals, Groups and Families, and her BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue with a degree in Science, Technology and Society Studies. Since obtaining her MSW, Kylie has specialized in medical and oncology social work with aging populations.
