Rachel West-Balling, MSW

Rachel West-Balling, MSW, is a 2008 graduate of UConn School of Social Work with a concentration in Group Work. She is in her 16th year at Ruth Chaffee Elementary School in Newington, where she works with students in PreK through 4th grade. Currently, she facilitates and/or co-facilitates up to 10-15 small groups per week, including an after-school leadership club. Rachel co-chairs the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team at her school and participates on the district DEI committee.

Her group work is centered around building community within the group, self-regulation, coping with academic and/or social challenges, conflict resolution, leadership, and more! Rachel is passionate about group work, and is excited to share her experiences with others, and to learn from other’s experiences with group work!
