Vivien Roman-Hampton, MSW, LICSW
Vivien Roman-Hampton, MSW, LICSW, is a doctoral student at the University of Connecticut’s School of Social Work. She founded and currently operates a group mental health practice that is committed to enhancing mental health accessibility for historically marginalized communities. In addition to her practice, Vivien serves as the Director of Outreach and Teacher Development for the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults.
Vivien graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), a graduate certificate in Women in Politics and Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Salem State University.
Her research interests are diverse, but she is particularly focused on exploring the role of mindfulness as an intervention in historically marginalized communities and as a tool for addressing systems of oppression. Through her work, Vivien aims to advance social justice and empower marginalized communities by utilizing mindfulness and other contemplative interventions to foster resilience and flourishing.
