Program Plans

Geared toward meeting the practical needs of our student population, the UConn Master of Social Work is attainable through a variety of study plan options. The following examples of program plans illustrate ways in which you can organize your course of study.

A minimum of 60 credits for the regular program is required for the degree including 42 credits in classroom courses and 18 credits in field education, taken concurrently. A minimum of 35 credits for the Advanced Standing program is required for the degree.

Social work course credit is not granted for life or previous work experience.

Advanced Standing students do not have the option to participate in the Dual Degree program.
